Open Day - Saturday 16th June 2007
At the first Open Day at White House Farm visitors were able to see the impressive variety of orchids.  Two guided walks took place and many visitors braved the two heavy rain showers between the sunny spells.  North and East Nature trails meandered through wildflower meadows and woodland.  Many wood sculptures were on display at the barns, garden, woodland and nature trails.

The barns hosted a small art exhibition and a willow weaving display and sale by local weaver Jo Hammond.  Nicola Guereca demonstrated basket weaving and Nigel McKean and Jeremy had a display hive and local honey for sale.  In the garden shelter, re-enactors Paul and Carol Atkin worked at their pole lathe and loom while dressed in Saxon costume.  Children’s activities included pond dipping and a ‘green hunt’.  Drinks and cakes were for sale in the Arts and Crafts summerhouse.  Thank you to all supporters for helping to create such an enjoyable day. [More pictures to be added shortly]

Sloe and Bullace Picking - Sunday 8th October 2006
The Glorious sunshine contributed to our enjoyment of the first friends, members and volunteers event at White House Farm where we had refreshments in the farm kitchen and picked sloes, bullaces and damsons as well as a few late blackberries in the hedges around the meadows east of the farmhouse.  The visiting Jack Russells enthusiastically led their owners, fortified by a nip of sloe gin, on a circular walk marked by red ribbons. Forty-five people and five dogs set out and most people returned, with picked fruit, for coffee and cake and to talk about memories of Laurie and Liz Parker and Tom Palmer.
